Luis Pena Figueroa is a Chilean violinist and teacher currently based in North Texas. He regularly plays first violin in the Las Colinas Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic and Columbus Symphony Orchestras. As a private violin instructor, he teaches at Richardson Independent School District. 
A recent graduate of Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, Mr. Peña-Figueroa completed his Artist Diploma on a full scholarship under the tutelage of professors Sergiu Schwartz and Boris Abramov. 
Mr. Peña-Figueroa participated in prestigious international music festivals such as “Grupos Sonantes” in Uruguay, ‘’FEMUSC” in Brasil, “ISMI” in Texas and “Aspen Music Festival and School” in Colorado where he received lessons from Professor Paul Kantor and played in the festival orchestra collaborating violin Gil Shaham and Joshua Bell. In Canada, he was featured as a first violinist in a string quartet at the “Quartet Fest,” hosted by the Penderecki String Quartet.  In 2019, The Orchestra of the Americas selected him as the only Chilean violin player to represent the country in its Mexico tour with guest soloist Gil Shaham.

In Mr. Peña-Figueroa's native Chile, he was featured as a soloist for the Chile Symphony and Concepcion Symphony Orchestras. Also he won 1st place in the 5th National Violin Competition by the Foundation of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Chile and studied at University of Talca prior to moving to the United States.
